Decks Are Our Core Work

Decks and related outdoor features are what we build. We build composite and wood decks, condo and commercial decking, pool decks, railings, under-deck drainage, deck foundations that may use helical piles, lighting, pergolas, and lattice or skirting when the property and project are a fit.

Steve owns the company and sets its operating direction. He works with a focused team whose sales, design, project management, and production responsibilities are clearly defined.

The way we work today matters more than a long company-history pitch. We check fit before full planning, use dedicated design and project-management roles, and keep daily logs and photos in the field. We keep training, tightening the process, and improving communication instead of chasing growth faster than the team can support.

Steve Kirk Owns Premier Deck

Steve Kirk owns Premier Deck. His approach is practical: understand the job, train for the work we take on, document what happens in the field, and keep improving how we work.

This is not a one-person carpentry shop. Our operation includes sales, design, project management, and production crews. Steve leads the company, while the contact and responsibilities for each project depend on the job.

That structure lets Steve keep the company moving while the right people handle planning and production. The right contact and project team depend on the work your property needs.

How We Plan and Build

A deck has to work as a structure before it works as an outdoor room. Our planning begins with the property, the way the space will be used, the existing conditions, and the decisions that control the foundation, frame, surface, stairs, railings, and related features.
  1. We Qualify the Project First

Composite and PVC can reduce the staining and sealing associated with wood. They usually cost more upfront, and product line, color, sun exposure, ventilation, framing, fastening, and care can change how the finished surface performs.
  2. We Design for the Actual Property

Grade, access, doors, traffic patterns, height, existing structures, drainage, and approval requirements can change the design. We gather the project information before presenting a detailed proposal.
  3. We Treat the Deck as a Complete Assembly

The surface is only one layer. Foundation choices, framing, the deck-to-house connection, flashing, fasteners, guards, stairs, drainage, and accessories have to work together and follow the project design, product instructions, and required approvals.
  4. We Put Responsibilities in the Project Documents

Permits, association reviews, drawings, engineering, inspections, utilities, electrical work, demolition, and outside services are not assigned the same way on every job. The proposal and agreement should say who handles each applicable task.
  5. We Document Production

Our crews keep daily logs and take photos each day during production. Those records help everyone stay informed about field progress. We will explain how they are shared for your project.

Work We Will Not Oversimplify

It is better to be clear early than say yes before we understand the property. We use the first conversations to decide whether our work and planning approach fit the job.

  • We do not offer deck staining.
  • We do not give one standard price before the property and project detail are understood.
  • We do not promise one completion calendar for every deck.
  • We do not assume we handle every permit, association submission, inspection, or outside task.
  • We do not treat a new railing or deck surface as a fix for an unsuitable structure below it.
  • We do not add features merely so a project can be called custom.

Repair, reuse, or replacement decisions depend on the condition and compatibility of what is already there. When an existing frame or connection cannot support the proposed work, the responsible answer is to address that issue before covering it.

Who Handles Each Part of the Project

Our team includes sales, design, project management, and production. Those roles help a project move from qualification into planning, from planning into the field, and from production into closeout.

Your project documents and current project communication identify the role responsible for decisions and coordination on your job. That is more useful than relying on a static list of names when assignments can change.

April supports our in-house social media and administrative communication. Her work is one part of the support behind the company, while project duties and contacts are assigned job by job.

TimberTech and NADRA Credentials

We hold TimberTech Platinum Installer status and belong to the North American Deck and Railing Association.

The TimberTech relationship provides relevant product and installer context, but it does not make every TimberTech or AZEK product suitable for every property. Product selection still depends on the design, exposure, surface preference, maintenance goal, framing, and complete project plan.

Decking Materials and How We Compare Them

We build a lot with AZEK and TimberTech products, including TimberTech Advanced PVC. Composite and PVC can cut down on the staining and sealing that comes with wood, but the product line, color, sun exposure, ventilation, fastening, framing, and care still matter.

We also build wood decks. Wood offers natural grain and a different upfront material choice, but it weathers and needs recurring care. Because staining is outside our services, a homeowner choosing wood should plan for that maintenance separately.

Railing choices may include wood, composite, cable, glass, and aluminum systems where they fit the design and structure. Under-deck drainage, lighting, pergolas, lattice, and skirting also have to be planned as parts of the deck rather than afterthoughts attached to it.

Records, Coverage, and Support After the Build

Closeout should leave you with the signed project records, the information included in the agreement, and the product documents that apply to your selections. Keep those materials together because they control later questions more reliably than a website summary.

Manufacturer product coverage and contractor workmanship coverage come from different parties. The manufacturer documents control product coverage. The signed project documents control our workmanship obligations. We do not combine those layers or invent exclusions, transfer rights, response promises, or remedies that are not in the governing terms.

If a concern comes up, document the condition, keep the affected area available for review when safe, and use the contact route in your project records. Our warranty page explains how to organize the information and identify the correct coverage path.

How Rochester and Portland Projects Differ

We serve projects through our Rochester and Portland markets. We do not use those addresses to suggest separate local crews, showrooms, walk-in access, or a certain number of years in either market.

The practical commitment is to plan for the property you own. Rochester and Portland use different municipal review paths, and individual properties can add condo, historic, flood, shoreland, commercial, or accessibility questions. We do not flatten those differences into one regional checklist.

For us, local work means planning for the actual property and following the rules that apply to its address.

Project Fit Depends on the Address

We consider projects in both markets. The market names do not mean that we have public showrooms, walk-in locations, separate local crews, or a fixed service radius.

Project fit depends on the property, proposed work, site conditions, travel, and our current schedule. Please call before planning an in-person visit so we can confirm the right contact path.
